David Howe has been a Technical Assistance Provider for the Western Regional Reading First Technical Assistance Center (WRRFTAC) at the University of Oregon since October of 2003. WRRFTAC provides technical assistance to states in the western region of the USA as those states implement their Reading First grants.
Mr. Howe received a Master's degree in Learning & Behavioral Disorders from the Ohio State University. He was a public school teacher of students with learning disabilities for 30 years. He taught in Ohio, New Mexico, and Wisconsin.
Mr. Howe also worked from 2001-2003 for the St. Croix River Education District (SCRED) in Rush City, Minnesota. He worked there as the technical assistance provider and trainer for the Minneapolis Consortium of Evidence in Education (MCEE) Reading Center. SCRED was the host for the MCEE Reading Center, a center funded through a 2-year state grant to improve the reading of low-performing schools throughout Minnesota.
